This project addresses the two following main aspects:

1. Modelling and inverse problems for multidimensional signals

This research theme is focused on the study of direct modelling and resolution of inverse problems on multidimensional signals (restoration, image reconstruction, estimation, multilinear factorisations, mixture separation, etc.). The main applications include vibrational spectroscopies (Raman, IR, NMR) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).

2. Image compression and watermarking

This part of the project deals on the one hand with multidimensional data modelling (in the wavelet domain) in order to optimize the performance of the lossy compression chain . On the other hand it is concerned by the design of joint watermarking and compression approaches. The main applications include real life image as well as medical image compression and transmission of compressed images through wireless sensor networks
