The activities of the thematic group Automatic, Control and Observation of Systems (ACOS) cover, on the one hand, the control and the observation of continuous-time systems and, on the other hand, the hybrid dynamical systems. These activities are in the continuity of the work undertaken in the "Research Centre for Automatic Control of Nancy" (CRAN) for several years. Two research projects are considered:

Observability and observer design for complex systems - Applications and Reductions (OSCAR) :
Observer and control design for uncertain systems (stochastic systems, singular systems, delay systems, polynomial systems).
Analysis, observation and control of high dimension systems.
Observer design for non linear systems.
Applications : Environmental Systems, Thermal systems, Unmanned Air Vehicles

Hybrid systems and complex dynamics (SdH.com) :
Switched and switching systems : Identification, control and observation;
Hybrid systems and complex behavior : limit cycles, chaos;
Applications : Energy management, Metallurgy, Encryption.

The members of  thematic group ACOS are involved in the following programmes :

ANR project - ACDC : Ciphering algorithms by inclusion and complex dynamics. (2005-2009).
NoE HYCON HYBRID CONTROL TIMING HETEROGENEITY AND COMPLEXITY OF NETWORKED EMBEDDED SYSTEMS. (2005-2009).
European Embedded Control Institute (EECI).
ANR Project ArHyCo : Hybrid architecture and constraints  (Programme ARPEGE - 2009/2011).
CPER MISN, AOC project - Analysis Optimization and Control, (2007-2013).
Partners : Arcelor-Mittal R&D, Institut Saint Louis, DGA
